Coroner Confirms the Tragic Accidental Death of Two People in Midlands-Area of South Carolina
MIDLANDS-AREA, SC – According to an online news report at thestate.com, tragic traffic accidents result in the death of two individuals in the Midlands-Area of South Carolina.*
In the first accident, a 57-year-old from Fayetteville, North Carolina who was driving a 2002 Honda Sedan exited the roadway to the right and slammed into a tree. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
She tragically died due to blunt force trauma, per the coroner’s office. According to a preliminary investigation of the accident, the woman was attempting to avoid an object in the road and lost control of her vehicle, causing her to strike the tree. According to the news report, the woman tragically died at the scene of the crash.
Another man tragically died in a collision while driving a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck. The 32-year-old was operating his Chevy on Myrtle Street when he approached a dirt section of the roadway and ran off to the side where he struck a number of trees.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Following the accident, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment in Augusta, Georgia. Unfortunately, he passed away in the early morning hours, per the coroner’s office.
A passenger in the truck was taken to a local hospital where they were treated for injuries. The passenger’s condition and identification have not been reported. Both accidents are being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Toxicology reports are pending.
