Police Officer Involved in Vehicle Crash in St. Louis County, Missouri

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. – According to an online news article reported at ncadvertiser.com, a police officer was involved in a vehicle crash in St. Louis County, Missouri. The officer was reportedly responding to a call and ran into a passenger vehicle. The officer and the other driver were injured in the accident, according to the article.*

The accident happened outside of a car dealership in St. Louis County. The name of the dealership and the name of the street where the collision took place were not named in the report, so the exact location of the accident is unknown. Authorities and the New Canaan Advertiser say that an officer with the St. Louis County Police Department was in the process of responding to a call regarding a burglary, and was driving toward the dealership.

An SUV then turned out onto the roadway from the dealership’s parking lot, and the officer crashed into the SUV. After the impact, the SUV rolled over. The make and model of the SUV were not reported, nor was any information about the circumstances of the accident. It is not clear how fast the officer was traveling or whether the officer had his or her lights and sirens running at the time of the crash.

The New Canaan Advertiser reports that the driver of the SUV was injured in the collision and taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was identified as a 62-year-old man. His hometown was not reported. His injuries were described as “moderate,” and a current condition was not provided. 

The New Canaan Advertiser further reports that the police officer was injured in the accident, as well. It is not clear if the officer was hospitalized for these injuries. No identifying information on the officer was included in the report.
