Pedestrian Tragically Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-75 in Bibb County, Georgia

BIBB COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news article published at, a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 75 in Bibb County, Georgia, tragically killed a pedestrian. Authorities are working to locate the driver who hit the victim and are also still in the process of identifying the victim.*

The accident took place in the early morning on the northbound side of I-75, near Riverside Drive. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and 13 WMAZ report that a woman was walking along the interstate and was somehow hit by a passing northbound vehicle. 

It is not clear what direction the woman was headed or where she had been walking at the time. The report does not say if the victim was attempting to cross the roadway or was walking beside it. Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle left the scene. 

13 WMAZ reports that the pedestrian tragically died in the accident. Investigators say they are having difficulty identifying the victim and believe she might have been a resident of Hogansville, Georgia. No further information about the victim was included in the report.

Authorities are also trying to track down the driver involved in the fatal crash. They have reason to believe the vehicle might be a Ford, but they do not yet have information about the model, the type of vehicle, or the color of the vehicle. No information about a potential suspect was reported. 

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver of the vehicle is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office by calling (478) 751-7500. People may also call Crime Stoppers with information at (877) 68-CRIME. Anyone who might be able to help in identifying the victim is asked to contact the Bibb County Coroner’s Office at (478) 256-6716.
