Fiery Accident on I-95 in Liberty County, Georgia SendsOne to the Hospital
LIBERTY COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at wsav.com,a serious fiery wreck occurred on Interstate 95 that sent an individual to the hospital earlier this week.*
Two vehicles going southbound close to mile marker 79 crashed into each other that caused one of the automobiles to burst into flames.
The Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that the operator of one of the vehicles was taken into custody for driving while impaired. The other individual involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital where their condition is not known. The accident occurred before midnight, which caused the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 to be shut down from exit 87. All traffic had been diverted to Highway 17.
According to an online article at patch.com, the state of Georgia ranks 21st in the United States for fatalities associated with drunk driving, per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and other data. A study conducted by SafeWise examined drunk driving-related fatalities per state. It demonstrates that 3.51 impaired driving deaths occurred per 100,000 people in Georgia back in 2017.
The five states with the highest rates of impaired driving fatalities are Wyoming, South Carolina, North Dakota, New Mexico and Alabama. The states with the lowest amounts of drunk driving-related fatalities are New Jersey, New York, Minnesota, Utah and Massachusetts.
