Intoxicated Macon Woman Crashes into Van and Flees the Scene, Van Driver Injured

MACON, GA – According to an online news report at, a 29-year-old woman, while intoxicated, crashes into a van and then fled the scene of the accident, causing the driver to sustain injuries.*

According to a lieutenant with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the woman, from Macon, Georgia, hit into a Honda Odyssey in the evening ours at the 5400 block of Mouth Pleasant Church Road.  She was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The woman was operating a Ford Expedition at the time of the accident. She had two passengers in the vehicle with her. Upon striking the van, the woman fled the scene of the accident, leaving the driver of a van, a 38-year-old man, from Lizella, Georgia, with injuries.  

An eyewitness followed the woman and called the sheriff’s office to report the crash.  She was ultimately apprehended on Griffin’s Hill Road.  Upon inspection of her vehicle, police found a part of the victim’s van that was stuck onto the woman’s sports utility vehicle.

The woman is facing charges of DUI and hit-and-run causing injuries.

The victim of the crash was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  It appears that the victim was the only individual who sustained injuries in the crash.
