Florida Man Injured in RV Crash on I-65 in Jackson County, Indiana

JACKSON COUNTY, IN. – According to a news article posted online at, a man from Florida was injured in a recreational vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 65 in Jackson County, Indiana. It appears only the RV was involved in the accident, and authorities are still investigating the wreck.*

The accident happened in the afternoon, close to mile marker 55 on the northbound side of I-65. Indiana State Police and Fox 59 report that around 1 p.m., a Holiday Rambler RV was traveling north on the interstate while pulling a trailer. It appears the RV was traveling in a construction zone and ended up running into the concrete barrier in the median of the interstate. It is not clear if the RV, the trailer, or both struck the barrier. 

State police report that the RV came to a stop in the median and caught on fire after the collision. It is not clear what caused the crash. The news report does not indicate whether authorities suspected any factors as contributing to the crash. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved in the accident. 

Fox 59 reports that the driver of the RV was injured in the crash, and emergency responders transported him to Schneck Medical Center. The report indicates the victim was then airlifted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was identified as a 37-year-old man from Orlando, Florida. His injuries are said to be serious. No current condition has been reported. 

Fox 59 further reports that there were two passengers riding in the RV at the time of the collision, and they were not injured. Neither of the passengers was identified in the report. 

Indiana State Police are still investigating the crash, and no further information had been released at the time of the Fox 59 report.
