Pedestrian Struck and Killed on US 441 in Marion County, Florida (FL)

January 24, 2021

MARION COUNTY, FL - A pedestrian accident news report on clickorlando.com states that a 38-year-old man walking along on U.S. 441 in Marion County, Florida, was tragically struck and killed by a motor vehicle.*  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was walking in the inside lane of U.S. 441 north, just south of 156th Street.

The accident report states that the accident occurred just after dark, and the area was unlit by street lights.  Presumably, the sedan's driver did not see the pedestrian and tragically struck him at full speed.  Following the collision, the car's driver stopped and contacted 911.

Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fatal pedestrian accidents, and the name of the 38-year-old victim's name was not released.  Florida Highway Patrol is asking for witnesses to provide information that will help them in their investigation.
