Tractor-trailer Truck Accident on Interstate 75 in Columbia County, Georgia

July 27, 2022

GEORGIA - An auto accident news report published on ocala-news.com states that two semi-tractor-trailer trucks collided on Interstate 75 in Columbia County, Georgia.*

The southbound traffic lanes of Interstate 75 were temporarily closed by Mile Marker 411 as law enforcement and emergency medical services worked the two semi-trucks accident. The truck accident happened last Tuesday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol accident report states that the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 PM, and the first semi-tractor-trailer truck was heading north on I-75 when a sedan cut off the first truck. The first truck driver, a 56-year-old Stone Mountain man, tried to take evasive action and veer around the sedan. The Florida Highway Patrol report revealed that the truck then crossed the center median and entered the interstate's southbound traffic lanes.

The second semi-tractor-trailer truck, driven by a 51-year-old Atlanta woman, was heading south along Interstate 75. She, too, was not able to avoid a crash, and her truck collided with the first semi-tractor-trailer truck after it traveled through the interstate's center median.

All of the interstate's southbound traffic lanes were blocked for several hours after the truck accident. The driver and passenger inside the first truck were not injured in the collision. However, the truck driver in the second truck and her 38-year-old male passenger from Jonesboro sustained accident-related injuries.

The names of those people involved in the trucking accident were not released to the public in accordance with the Florida Highway Patrol's policy. The truck accident is currently under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No additional information about the crash was released to the public. Accident witnesses are encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol and provide any information they have.
