Teenaged Passenger Tragically Killed in an SUV Rollover Accident on US 1 in Martin County, Florida

MARTIN COUNTY, FLORIDA - According to an online news article published on wptv.com, a 16-year-old boy was tragically killed in a rollover accident on U.S. 1 in Martin County, Florida.*

Moreover, an 18-year-old was seriously injured in the crash. The accident happened just before 2:30 in the morning last Thursday on U.S. 1 close to the intersection with Southeast 171st Street.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the 18-year-old man was driving an SUV north along U.S. 1, just north of Southeast 171st Street. For some unknown reason, the SUV driver lost control of his motor vehicle. The SUV then overturned several times and tragically ejected the 16-year-old passenger.

The male passenger was tragically pronounced dead at the accident scene. The boy's name was not made public. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the young passenger was from Hobe Sound.

The driver was transported to Jupiter Medical Center and is in critical medical condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol stated that they are currently investigating the fatal accident. No additional information was provided at this time.
