Three People Tragically Died in an Accident on Interstate 75 in Sumter, Florida
SUMTER COUNTY, FLORIDA - According to an online news report published on clickorlando.com, three people were tragically killed in a pickup truck accident in Sumter County, Florida.*
The pickup truck was transporting six people at the time of the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol's accident report stated that the pickup truck was heading southbound along State Road 44. At some point, the pickup truck driver failed to navigate a curve, left the roadway, and crashed into a tree at around 4:17 AM. The collision caused the pickup truck to burst into fire. According to a media release, the driver and two passengers sustained fatal injuries.
Portions of I-75 around to area were shut down until 9:50 AM. The remaining passengers sustained severe injuries. The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement. No further details were provided at this time.
