Florida-bound Airplane Tragically Crashes During an Emergency Landing

FLORIDA - A news article published on wfla.com reports that a private plane heading to Miami crashed during an attempted emergency landing at Las Americas Airport in the Dominican Republic.*

The airplane's operator confirmed the tragic death of nine people, including a famous music producer.  According to Helidosa Aviation Group, seven of the victims were passengers and the other two victims were crew members.  All nine of the airplane crash victims tragically died in the accident. 

The Helidosa Aviation Group reported that the airplane was on its way to Miami, Florida.  It is not clear why the plane crashed.  The aviation accident is currently under investigation.  Aviation accidents are typically investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.  These accident reports can take up to two years to complete.  However, a preliminary report may be released by the Federal Aviation Administration in as few as six months.
