Pedestrian Tragically Killed in a Lake City Train Collision

FLORIDA - A news article published on news4jax.com reports that a pedestrian was tragically killed after they were hit by a train last Tuesday morning in Lake City, Florida.*

According to the Lake City Police Department, law enforcement officers and emergency medical services responded to the fatal crash around four in the morning.  The Florida Gulf Railroad also responded to the accident near Northwest Dixie Avenue after receiving a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a train.

Lake City Police reported that railroad employees guided them to the accident scene.  The law enforcement officers then discovered the body of a man who was struck by a train.  The Lake City Police later stated that the victim was a 28-year-old man from Concord, New Hampshire.

The Florida Gulf and Atlantic Railroad and the Lake City Police Department are currently investigating the fatal pedestrian accident.  No further details were provided at this time.
