Fatal, Multi- Vehicle Accident on J. Turner Butler Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA - A news article published on news4jax.com reports that emergency medical services and law enforcement responders handled two serious motor vehicle accidents along J. Turner Butler Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida.*
The first motor vehicle accident happened along the eastbound side of J. Turner Butler Boulevard close to Kernan Boulevard. The crash happened just before 6:40 PM. The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed that at least one person was tragically killed in the accident. All eastbound traffic lanes in the area were closed off for several hours.
One unidentified witness stated that he and his wife contacted 911 concerning a disabled motor vehicle in the same location of the accident 14 minutes before. The report was not clear if the car was involved in the accident that tragically killed one person.
The Florida Highway Patrol will release its accident report later in the evening.
A second, and unrelated accident occurred on J. Turner Butler Boulevard approximately one hour after the first accident. This crash occurred at about 7:50 in the evening. Law enforcement officers closed off the westbound exit ramp leading to Southside Boulevard. Drivers were advised to look for an alternative route. The accident is currently under investigation.
