Truck Accident on I-95 Near Baymeadows, Florida

The trucking accident occurred last Friday morning and traffic was backed up while emergency responders worked on the truck that flipped over. The truck accident occurred just after four in the morning.
Florida Highway Patrol states that a box truck carrying coconuts was traveling northbound along I-95 when the truck was rear-ended by an SUV. Florida Highway Patrol reported that the SUV driver fell asleep while driving prior to striking the box truck. The impact of the collision caused the box truck to flip over, trapping a person inside. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the SUV traveled onto the right shoulder and collided with a traffic sign and a light pole.
According to the report, the SUV driver sustained accident injuries and was given a ticket for careless driving. The three occupants in the box truck were all injured and one is listed in serious medical condition. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue's Captain Eric Prosswimmer reported that two people were transported to the hospital.
The Florida Department of Transportation's cameras captured a box truck on its side and it was blocked traffic. Two right northbound traffic lanes were closed for about three hours. The accident is currently under investigation.
