Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Bayshore Road in Cape Coral, Florida

FLORIDA - According to a news story published on winknews.com, a woman was tragically killed when she was struck by a car as she attempted to cross Bayshore Road in Cape Coral, Florida.*

The driver was allegedly driving while under the influence.  That driver was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail, where he awaits his first hearing before the courts.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the victim, a 26-year-old woman from Punta Gorda, was crossing Bayshore Road, just west of Ixora Drive, at around midnight when the collision occurred.  The woman was struck by a pickup truck that was driven by a 34-year-old man from Cape Coral, Florida. 

According to the report, the bond was not set in the man's criminal case.  The fatal pedestrian crash is currently under investigation, and no other details were provided at this time.
