Fatal Interstate-4 Accident in Hillsborough County, Florida
FLORIDA - According to a news story published on wtsp.com, a fatal tractor-trailer truck accident occurred on I-4 in Hillsborough County, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol closed off all westbound traffic lanes long Interstate-4 by McIntosh Road. According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the fatal crash occurred at around 4:30 in the morning.
According to the accident report, the man was traveling along I-4 at a high rate of speed. As the man tried to change traffic lanes, he struck the rear of the 18-wheeler's trailer, and this caused his automobile to spin out of control. He was then ejected from his motor vehicle. The accident victim was taken to a local area hospital, where he tragically passed away from the life-threatening injuries he sustained.
The fatal accident closed down all I-4 westbound traffic lanes for about 4 hours. That section of the interstate was reopened at around 9 AM. The accident is currently under investigation.
