Marianna Woman Tragically Killed in Bus Accident in Jackson County, Florida
JACKSON COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news story posted on mypanhandle.com reports that a Marianna woman was tragically killed in a car accident with a bus.*
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the 19-year-old woman was in her Toyota Camry and driving along Peacock Bridge Road. As the woman tried to make a left turn onto State Road 71, she crossed the southbound traffic lane. At that moment the Prevost passenger bus struck the woman's Toyota Camry. The accident happened at around 11:25 in the morning.
The Prevost passenger bus driver tried to avoid the collision by hitting the brakes. However, the bus struck the left side of the Toyota Camry.
Tragically, the Camry driver was declared deceased at the scene of the collision. The Camry's front-seat passenger is listed in critical medical condition. The passenger was air evacuated to a local area hospital. No other injuries were reported.
