Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Laurel Road East in Venice, Florida
VENICE, FLORIDA - A news article published on mysuncoast.com reports that a fatal hit-and-run accident occurred in Venice, Florida. According to the report, a pickup truck driver struck two other vehicles along Laurel Road East in Venice, Florida.*
Tragically, a 52-year-old man from Nokomis was killed in the crash. Another accident victim, a 64-year-old man from Miami, was severely injured. The pickup truck driver then fled the fatal accident on foot.
Florida Highway Patrol reported that the pickup truck driver appears to have run a red light by the I-75 overpass and then collided with two motor vehicles that were turning onto Laurel Road off of the I-75 ramp. Another neighbor stated that Laurel Road is dangerous, especially in the area of the crash.
