Tragic, Fatal Car Accident on I-75 in Brandon, Florida

BRANDON, FLORIDA - A news article published on suncoastnews.com reports that Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal car accident on southbound I-75 in Brandon, Florida.*  According to the news report, a Ford pickup truck and a Jeep SUV were involved in a severe motor vehicle accident.  

The Ford pickup truck, operated by a 28-year-old man from Riverview, was heading south along the I-75 access road by Mile Marker 256 near State Road 60.  The Jeep SUV was towing a boat and was parked along the road's shoulder.  The victim, a 46-year-old man from Brandon was outside his vehicle and standing next to the SUV.

At approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, the pickup truck advanced toward the SUV and the pickup truck driver lost control over his vehicle causing the pickup truck to spin and crash into the 46-year-old man.  Following the impact, the boat was launched off of the boat trailer and onto the outside shoulder.  

Emergency first responders took the victim to a local area hospital, where he tragically passed away from his severe injuries.  The pickup truck driver was not injured in the accident.
