Uber Driver Reports Passenger Assault to Law Enforcement

FLORIDA - A news article published on nbcmiami.com reports that a female Uber driver in South Florida stated that she had been the victim of an assault by her passenger last Saturday morning.*  According to the news report, the Uber driver said that her passenger became enraged then "beat her up." 

The Uber driver said that she had been driving her passenger to a various places around Miami Beach, Florida.  She then told her passenger that she was unable to continue to drive. At that moment, her passenger became very angry and violent toward her.  She stated that the passenger punched her in the face, then spit on her, and then fled the scene of the assault.

According to the news report, the attack occurred in Overtown at around 10 in the morning.  The Miami-Dade Police Department has filed a report concerning the attack.

The report stated that the Miami Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to the Palmetto Hospital.  The victim received several hospital scans and tests.  She was released after being treated for her injuiries.
