Fatal Head-on Collision With Tractor-Trailer Truck on State Road 471 in Sumterville, Florida

FLORIDA - A news article published on reports that a Sumter County man has tragically died in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer truck.*

The victim, a 52-year-old, man from Webster, was driving south on State Road 471, just north of SE 29th Boulevard in Sumterville, Florida.  The fatal truck accident occurred at approximately 2:45 in the afternoon.  

The news article states that for some “unknown reason,” the victim's vehicle crossed the median, entered the northbound lane, and collided with a tractor-trailer in a head-on collision.  The truck driver, a 57-year-old man from Burleson, Texas, was unable to avoid the collision.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol's accident report, the Webster man tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.  

The fatal accident is currently under investigation.  No additional information was provided.
