Florida Highway Patrol is Investigating a Fatal Highway 231 Accident in Bay County, Florida
BAY COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news story published on mypanhandle.com reports that the Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a severe fatal car accident.*
The tragic motor vehicle accident killed three adults and one child. Law enforcement authorities stated that a grey passenger car was traveling southbound in the northbound traffic lane of Highway 231 with the car's headlights turned on.
The other sedan involved in the fatal motor vehicle accident, a white Ford, was heading northbound and with the flow of traffic when the two cars collided. The white Ford burst into fire and all three of the car's occupants were tragically killed.
The grey sedan's driver was also tragically killed in the wrong-way collision.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lieutenant Jason King, the agency is still working to identify the victims. Lieutenant King reported that the Florida Highway Patrol was working hard to confirm the family members of the victims who were killed in the car fire. He also stated that the agency is waiting on the medical examiner’s reports.
