SAVANNAH, GA- Wsav.com writes that a pedestrian crash killed one person this week in Savannah. The collision took place in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95. The driver involved, identified as a 40-year-old man who was operating a Freightliner Cascadia.*

SANDY SPRINGS, GA- Reporternewspapers.net writes that a driver collided with the Sandy Springs Medical Center in Georgia this week, injuring a nurse. The motorist was reportedly attempting to park when he or she pressed the gas pedal rather than the brakes.*

PERRY, GA - Wgxa.com writes that a plane crash took place in Perry, Georgia, this week. The single-engine aircraft reportedly came down close to Moss Oak Road in a field during the early evening.*

MACON, GA- Wgxa.tv writes that a crash took place in Macon, Georgia, that involved a police patrol vehicle. The police vehicle was a Bibb County police car that was heading eastbound through the intersection when a westbound Honda Accord made a left turn off of Mercer University.*

COBB COUNTY, GA- Northwestgeorgianews.com writes that a teenager from Marietta is now facing charges in connection to a deadly crash that occurred in Cobb County. The incident took place at the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Powers Road when the teen was traveling southbound.*

CUMMING, GA- Oxygen.com writes that a young teenager was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Cummings. The horrible crash occurred while the thirteen-year-old was on the sidewalk walking with his father near a church. Reports indicate that a white SUV was speeding down the road and left the street, jumping onto the sidewalk where it struck the boy and his father.*

SAVANNAH, GA- Fox28media.com writes that a crash took place this week in the late evening on Interstate 95. The incident involved a Freightliner truck that collided with a person who was on the roadway.* 

GEORGIA- Ajc.com writes that Georgia is facing rising numbers of fatal pedestrian crashes. The state’s numbers indicate that these incidents are rapidly rising, including a 32 percent jump from 2017 to 2018.

USA- Americanaddictioncenters.org writes that truckers have difficult jobs that often involve expectations that they drive for periods of 70 hours a week. Drivers are often not able to estimate their earnings because of the way in which they are compensated. Pay comes in money per miles traveled, and often, truckers cover 2,500 miles a week. The conditions for these workers include harsh weather, heavy traffic, and extended hours alone in a noisy cab.

FLORIDA - The leading cause of truck crash in a recent study was identified as driver errors. While non-truck crashes are more likely to be caused by driver errors than truck crashes, both types of accidents are often the result of mistakes. The report states that 95.6 percent of non-truck collisions are caused by driver errors while 92.5 percent of truck crashes are driver-error related.

DOOLY COUNTY, GA- According to 13wmaz.com, a crash between two large trucks led to a closure of all lanes on Interstate 75. The incident occurred in the northbound lanes close to the Georgia 215 interchange. The wreck led to long traffic delays near Cordele.*

SMYRNA, (GA)- Northwestgeorgianews.com writes that a pedestrian was killed in a terrible crash in Smyrna last week. The incident occurred in the evening on South Cobb Drive at its intersection with Benson Poole Road.*

USA - There is a correlation between crashes involving large trucks and truck driver fatigue, according to BLOG.KEEPTRUCKIN.COM. More than fifteen million large trucks transport seventy percent (70%) of our goods across the country annually. 

USA- Studies have identified many risk factors that lead to a greater chance of a traffic accident, according to WHO.INT. Demographics, including age and gender, are predictors of a person’s risk of being harmed in a traffic incident. 

USA - According to the cdc.gov, the risk of being tragically killed in a car crash is high in the United States. In fact, up to the age of 30, car accidents are the number one cause of death for Americans. Each year, tens of thousands of people are killed in vehicle collisions.

PUTNAM COUNTY, GA- According to 13wmaz.com, a plane that recently crashed in Putnam County was on fire prior to striking the ground. The small aircraft came down into the woods, killing all five people on board. The victims included two pilots and three passengers.*

EAST LYME, CT - According to an online news report on Patch.com, a man was arrested after he left the scene of a serious accident with injuries that he caused in East Lyme, Connecticut. The accident occurred on Saturday. The man of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility-serious injury, second-degree reckless endangerment, and taking a vehicle without owner permission. *

RICHMOND HILL, GA- Wtoc.com writes that a deadly crash took place this week in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95. The incident led to closures near Ford Avenue and Richmond Hill while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.*

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA - Ajc.com writes that one person died in a tragic crash that occurred in the course of a police chase. The incident took place on Interstate 285.*

GEORGIA- Gwinnettdailypost.com writes that a bill was recently introduced in Georgia that is aimed at increasing the regulations at nursing homes and similar facilities. The proposed law is a response to the tragic outbreak of coronavirus, which hit long-term care facilities particularly hard. If passed, facilities will have to comply with new and stricter reporting standards.*

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — NBC affiliate KXAN reported that a man injured in a trucking mishap won a jury verdict exceeding $7 million against the trucking company. The crash happened in January of 2017. The victim in the crash sustained severe injuries when an 18-wheeler truck collided with a bridge and sent debris through the windshield of the victim’s car.  At the time of the accident, the driver was hauling an oversized load that was over the appropriate height for the route. Additionally, the driver failed to follow the route approved by the Texas Department of Transportation during the application process required when hauling an over-sized or over-height load. *

GLYNN COUNTY, GA - Wtoc.com writes that a driver struck a firefighter who was on a motorcycle in Glynn County and then fled the scene of the crash. The victim sustained severe injuries in the incident and was hospitalized following the accident. His injuries included multiple fractures to his tibia and fibula, a broken ankle. And multiple broken bones in his foot.*

ALBUQUERQUE, NM- Kob.com writes that two teenage girls were involved in a terrible crash with a hit-and-run driver this week. The young girls, who were part of the Rio Ranch basketball team, were hiking on the La Luz Trail with other team members prior to the collision. Another car struck their vehicle at Tramway and Academy, pinning the girls’ vehicle against a utility pole.*

USA- Yahoo.com writes that pedestrians are at a greater risk of being killed by SUVs than by smaller cars. The study, which was completed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

EAST LYME, CT - Wfsb.com writes that a rollover crash occurred in East Lyme that severely injured a woman. The driver operating the vehicle has now been arrested. The East Lyme Police Department responded to the crash scene in the mid-afternoon following multiple calls regarding a serious collision.* 

KANSAS CITY, MO - Ncadvertiser.com writes that a driver struck and killed a 23-year-old pedestrian in Kansas City this week. The incident occurred at the intersection of 43^rd Street and Main Street in the early morning.*

CANTON TOWNSHIP, OH- Cantonrep.com writes that a man from South Carolina was killed in a motorcycle crash in Ohio this week. The incident occurred in the late evening on Route 43 between Millerton Street and 17^th Street SE.*

PALMYRA, NE- Ncadvertiser.com writes that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Nebraska this week. The victim was identified as a 41-year-old man. The motorcycle crashed into the side of a pickup truck that was being operated by a 52-year-old man.*

WINTER PARK, FL- The orlandosentinel.com writes that Winter Park is banning companies such as Spin and Lime from operating in the city. The ordinance was passed this week after the city has been approached by multiple companies wishing to set up e-scooter rentals in areas popular for shopping and dining out.*

USA- Freightwaves.com writes that a bill allocating $755 million in federal funds for new truck parking spaces was introduced this week. The Truck Parking Safety Act would use money from the United States Department of Transportation to construct new parking for trucks or to convert rest stops and weigh stations into parking facilities for trucks.*

A longitudinal study of truck accidents reveals several causes for deadly commercial vehicle and big-rig crashes. Over three years, researchers examined hundreds of large truck crashes in the United States to ascertain the reasons why these crashes occurred. Several trends emerged. Researchers were able to determine at which time of day a fatal truck accident was likely to happen, which road or highway in the country was the most dangerous for truck crashes and which behavior was the most frequently cited in fatal truck crashes. According to Fleetowner.com, researchers examined fatal large truck collisions from 2015 through 2017. *

USA- Freightwaves.com writes that lawmakers introduced a new amendment addressing transportation infrastructure which includes a requirement that truck owners carry $2 million in insurance. The current minimum policy for truck owners is $750,000, meaning the new law, if passed by the House and Senate, would more than double the mandatory coverage.*

USA-  Traffic deaths declined in 2019 as compared to 2018, according to CRASHSTATS.NHTSA.DOT.GOV. Based on current data, it appears that 36,120 people were tragically killed in motor vehicle crashes last year. If accurate, the numbers show a drop of 1.2 percent as compared to 2018.*

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) found that a disturbing 71% of truck drivers involved in crashes were doing something other than focusing on driving the truck when a crash happened. The FMCSA warns drivers to pay close attention to the road. 

GEORGIA - Car crashes are stressful and sometimes tragic. However, they are also common. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), 1,507 people died in collisions in the state in 2019. Of course, that number only describes the very worst collisions and not the many other wrecks that leave people injured or damage their property.

FRONT ROYAL, VA- The nvdaily.com writes that a three-vehicle collision occurred in Page County this week that left one person dead. The crash took place on US 340 close to VA 684, which is also known as Goodmill Road.* 

USA- Southernminn.com writes that the World Health Administration (WHO) and The International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse began World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, designated June 15th, in order to raise public awareness about elder abuse. 

SAVANNAH, GA- The Georgia Governor, Brian Kemp, said all of the state’s residents have been tested for the coronavirus, according to WTOC.COM. The state is attempting to expand testing, and while having tested all the individuals in nursing homes is an accomplishment, it does not mark the end of the struggle to contain the disease.*

CALHOUN, GA- Ajc.com writes that four people sustained injuries in a crash that involved an ATV. The incident occurred when a woman and a nine-year-old were heading eastbound on Horizon Hills Road on a 2004 Yamaha Moto ATV. The engine stalled, and the vehicle then rolled backward. The driver, identified as a 21-year-old woman, realized that her brakes were not working.*

DULUTH, GA- 11alive.com writes that a train was derailed when it struck a truck in Duluth. The incident occurred on Buford Highway to the north of Pleasant Hill Road.*

GEORGIA- The Drive Alert Arrive Alive initiative is working to remind motorists about how important it is to drive carefully in order to arrive safely. Most crashes are the result of driver mistakes, including driving while distracted.*

GEORGIA - Motorcycles carry inherent risks for riders. As a result, motorcyclists face a per-mile risk of being involved in a deadly crash that is 27 times that of people who are traveling in cars, according to VALDOSTATODAY.COM. While motorcyclists can take steps to reduce their risk of being killed in a crash, their safety is largely dependent on other drivers also being responsible.

GEORGIA- Ajc.com writes that Georgia is not done battling the outbreak of the coronavirus. The number of new cases increased this week as well as last week. Some counties are seeing spikes and new outbreak clusters.*

CRESTVIEW, GA- Crestviewbulletin.com writes that three people died in a crash in Crestview this week. The incident took place on State Road 85 when a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck another car.*

HENRY COUNTY, GA- Ajc.com writes that a crash took place in Henry County, Georgia, this week that left five people with injuries and closed Interstate 75 for several hours. Police reports indicate that three vehicles were involved in the collision and that some of the victims suffered critical injuries in the wreck.* 

WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA - Chattanoogan.com writes that a deadly collision occurred this week in Georgia. The incident took place on Interstate 75 in the late evening. Police reports indicate that officers began pursuing a 2008 Ford Fusion that had Tennessee license plates displayed after determining that the car had been reported stolen.*

MACON, GA- 41nbc.com writes that a crash that involved two motorcycles and a pickup truck left two individuals dead this week in Macon. The incident occurred late in the evening when the two motorcycles were traveling westbound on Hartley Bridge Road in Bibb County. The motorcyclists were identified as a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both of whom were from Byron.*

ATLANTA, GA- Ajc.com writes that a rollover crash on Interstate 20 injured two people this week in Atlanta. The wreck involved two cars that collided, leading to one of the vehicles rolling over. Both of the involved automobiles struck a concrete barrier.*

DADE COUNTY, GA - Wrcbtv.com writes that a police deputy and another driver were both injured in a severe crash on Interstate 59 this week. The Dade County Deputy was working to control traffic while road workers were on the interstate.*

SAVANNAH, GA- Wtoc.com writes that a deadly crash took place this week involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. The crash occurred in the late evening on Ogeechee Road. The motorcycle was heading southbound when it collided with a person who was walking in the road. The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.*

BIBB COUNTY, GA - Macon.com writes that a crash led to the death of two motorcyclists this week in Bibb County. The victims, who were identified as a 24-year-old and a 22-year-old who were both from Crawford County, were killed when their motorcyclists collided with a pickup truck.*

IMMOKALEE, FL – Abc-7.com writes that a man was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash that left a 70-year-old woman dead in Immokalee. The incident took place earlier this year when the driver allegedly struck the victim who was walking on SR-29 close to the intersection with Farm Worker Way.*

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC - Wyff4.com writes that police filed charges following a fatal crash in Greenville County this week. The incident took place in the early evening on Piedmont Highway when a woman tried to pull out of a private driveway and collided with the motorcyclist.*

ORLANDO, FL- Cyclist safety is a major concern in the Sunshine State. Approximately sixteen percent of all cyclist deaths in the U.S. occurred in Florida in 2017. That year, 783 people were tragically killed while on bikes nationally, and 125 were in Florida. 

MT. VERNON, AL- Mynbc15.com writes that a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian early in the morning this week on US 43 close to Steel Drive. The incident reportedly took place in the southbound lanes.*

LINCOLN COUNTY, GA- Wrdw.com writes that a deadly crash took place this week in the early morning in Lincoln County. The incident occurred on Augusta Highway between a car and a log truck.*

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA- 13wmaz.com writes that students on campus at Georgia College are looking to have improved pedestrian safety on roads frequently used by members of the college community.* 

GEORGIA-   Pedestrian fatalities are on the rise throughout the state of Georgia, according to RIDESAFEGEORGIA.ORG. Numbers indicate that in just a three-year period between 2014 and 2017, the number of pedestrians tragically killed in traffic accidents in the state rose from 163 to 253.* 

FLORIDA- Sflcn.com writes that pedestrian crashes are increasing nationally and it is important for drivers and pedestrians alike to use caution in an effort to prevent these tragedies. While nighttime pedestrian crashes are often the result of poor visibility, many pedestrian crashes also take place in broad daylight.*

ATLANTA, GA- Not all roads are created equal and when it comes to the most hazardous roads in the nation, the Downtown Connector is one of the worst, according to AJC.COM. The safety nonprofit, Go Safe Labs, reviewed traffic in ten cities and found that the Downtown Connector has the worst and most dangerous traffic in the country around the holidays.*

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA- Wgxa.tv writes that police are warnings parents in Cherokee County about a dangerous game that teens have been engaging in throughout the area. The game, called "nerf wars," can lead to reckless driving that puts the participants and others on the road in potential danger.*

WASHINGTON, DC- The speed limit in Washington, DC has been reduced to just twenty miles per hour in an effort to reduce pedestrian deaths in the city, according to WASHINGTONIAN.COM. The former default speed limit was 25 miles per hour, but as of this summer, the new limit is in effect.*

GILCHRIST COUNTY, FL- Gilchristcountyjournal.net writes that a crash between a jet ski and a boat led to multiple injuries this week in Gilchrist County. The two vessels were on the Santa Fe River when the rider on the jet ski jumped a wake left from one boat and entered the path of another vessel. The boat then crashed into a wooden dock located at a Holly Springs residence.*

GILMER COUNTY, GA- Ajc.com writes that a teenager caused a fatal car crash this week in North Georgia. The wreck left one of the passengers in the car dead and injured two other individuals. According to state troopers, the teen was traveling on GA 282 in the late evening when he lost control over the car. The vehicle rolled over and then collided with a tree.*

AUGUSTA, GA- Wrdw.com writes that a police officer suffered injuries in a crash this week in Augusta. The wreck took place in Richmond County in the afternoon when the officer was traveling eastbound on Broad Street.*

COLUMBUS, GA- Wtvm.com writes that a tragic collision occurred in Columbus this week that took the life of a seven-year-old girl. According to the coroner, the child was partially ejected from her father's vehicle, leading to her death.* 

GEORGIA- 13wmaz.com writes that a train crash in the fall was the most expensive derailment in the state's history. The train also had cars that were transporting toxic chemicals and hazardous materials, but those cars did not derail. Had the hazardous materials derailed, the crash could have been even more devastating.*

AUGUSTA, GA- Wjbf.com writes that two people sustained injuries in a car crash this week in Augusta. The incident involved a Richmond County Deputy and a civilian vehicle. Reports indicate that the mid-afternoon accident occurred when the officer was traveling east on Broad Street and struck a Lexus sedan that was attempting to turn left onto 6^thStreet.*

BROOKHAVEN, GA- Northwestgeorgianews.com writes that a driver struck a pedestrian in Brookhaven late last month. The victim, identified as an 89-year-old woman from Brookhaven, was rushed to the hospital following the crash. Sadly, the victim died this week from the injuries she suffered in the collision.*

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA- 13wmaz.com writes that a boating accident on Lake Sinclair in Georgia led to a girl sustaining injuries this week. The Department of Natural Resources stated that the incident involved two pontoon boats.*

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA- The unionrecorder.com writes that a child was involved in a serious crash while riding an inner tube on Lake Sinclair. A pontoon boat was pulling the child and others on an innertube when another boat struck the innertube. The eleven-year-old sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Macon for treatment.*

CARROLLTON, VA- Wavy.com writes that a two-vehicle collision this week severely injured two-people in Carrollton. The incident occurred in the early evening on Carrollton Boulevard. Reports stated that one of the two vehicles overturned in the crash. The condition of those individuals is not known at this time. The images of the scene show a vehicle resting on its roof in one of the lanes. *

ATLANTA, GA- Ajc.com writes that a collision on Interstate 75 this week injured four people. The victims included three Georgia National Guard members. The incident occurred in the early afternoon when a motorist in a Chevrolet Tahoe lost control of the vehicle and collided with a vehicle operated by the National Guard. The crash took place close to the exit for Mt. Paran Road.*

MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA- The ledger-enquirer.com writes that a child was killed in a horrible collision in Georgia this week. The victim, identified as a seven-year-old girl, was thrown from the vehicle in which she had been traveling at the time of the incident.*

FLORIDA- Pools are a hazard for young children. In fact, children under four years old are more likely to tragically die in drownings than in any other type of accident, according to Sun-sentinel.com.*

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA- Wrcbtv.com writes that a car crash occurred on Interstate 75 in Georgia during the course of a police chase. According to local police, a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot at the Circle K located at the intersection of Battlefield Parkway and Smitherman Road.*

CALIFORNIA- Patch.com writes that a soccer player was involved in a horrific collision in 2018 that left him with life-threatening injuries. The victim was a member of the California State University San Marcos and was traveling with his father to a game when their car was involved in the collision.*

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA- Gwinnettdailypost.com writes that a crash involving a truck took place on Interstate 85 this week. The truck overturned and led to the closure of four traffic lanes. Vehicles were limited to the use of one lane while crews worked to clear the scene.*

COLUMBIA, SC- Wltx.com writes that one person lost his or her life in a car crash on Interstate 20 this week. The late morning wreck occurred in Lee County in the eastbound lanes near Bishopville. According to reports, a driver in a 2018 Mercedes SUV was traveling through a construction site behind a 2013 tractor-trailer.*

UNION CITY, GA- Ajc.com writes that a pedestrian was struck and killed in a crash in Union City this week on Interstate 85. The crash occurred in the very early morning near an exit ramp, and multiple vehicles are reported to have struck the victim. Police stated that the man who was killed did not have any identifying documents on him when he died. Officers are still working to determine the identity of the man.*

FORT LEONARD WOOD, MO- Kentucky.com writes that a construction accident in Fort Leonard Wood tragically killed one person this week during the mid-afternoon. According to reports, the incident involved a crane.*

MOULTRIE, GA- Moultrieobserver.com writes that a crash took place on Thigpen Trail that killed one person. The wreck was one of two severe crashes that occurred on the same day.*

SMYRNA, GA- 11alive.com writes that a teenager was left for dead in a stolen car following a crash in Smyrna. Two other passengers were also injured and left behind when the driver fled the scene.*

PUTNAM COUNTY, GA- Today.com writes that a family of five died in a horrible plane crash this week. The family was heading from Florida to Indiana, where they were planning to attend a funeral. The aircraft came down in Eatonton, Georgia, where it crashed into the woods.*

NEWTON COUNTY, GA- Covnews.com writes that a couple from Oxford was killed on Georgia 36 in a tragic collision when an RV drifted into their pickup truck. Ultimately, three vehicles were involved in the deadly crash.*

ATLANTA, GA- Ajc.com writes that a driver was killed in a crash this week in Atlanta. The incident occurred when a driver in an SUV reportedly made a U-turn and began to head against the flow of traffic on the Downtown Connector. The vehicle was identified as a Mercedes-Benz SUV.*

SAVANNAH, GA- Wtoc.com writes that a pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Bull Street and Derenne Avenue this week in the morning.*

FLORIDA- Wftv.com writes that every year, over 3,000 people are tragically killed in car crashes in Florida. The statistics average out to about eight people dying on Florida roads every day. Some parts of the state have higher numbers of deaths than others, indicating some counties may have more hazardous roads than others.*

PAGE COUNTY, VA- Nbc29.com writes that a tragic crash occurred this week on Route 340. The three-vehicle incident occurred in the early evening near Goodmill Road this week.*

OXFORD, GA- Rockdalenewtoncitizen.com writes that a couple tragically died in a car crash on GA Highway 36 this week. The victims were identified as a 72-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman. The couple was in a vehicle when a car traveling the opposite direction veered across the center line and struck them head-on. The driver killed in the crash was a retired helicopter pilot who flew for Lifeflight.*

Dalton Crashes Decline in Georgia (GA)

DALTON, GA- Timesenterprise.com writes that the police department in Dalton reports a decline in traffic accidents and criminal activity while more people have been home during the pandemic.*

GEORGIA- Car crashes caused by loose truck tires are leading to concerns in Georgia, according to 13WMAZ.COM. In one incident, a woman was killed when two tires broke from a large truck and traveled across multiple lanes of Interstate 75 before crashing through her windshield. The 36-year-old woman died instantly in that incident.*

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA- Wgxa.com writes that a major intersection in Houston County has become a cause for concern among many residents in the area. Reporters spoke to one man who frequently travels through the intersection of Houston Lake Boulevard and Georgia Highway 49. The local resident explained that he often fears that he will be involved in, or witness a crash at the site and that he advises others to avoid that intersection if possible.*

MINOT, ND- Grandforksherald.com writes that a collision in Minot left one man dead. The incident took place in the afternoon on Highway 23 at its intersection with Highway 83.*

ATLANTA, GA- 11alive.com writes that a crash in Atlanta killed two people and left one critically injured this week on the Downtown Connector. The early morning incident happened when a southbound Dodge Charger was traveling on Interstate 75/85 in the northbound lanes. The Dodge collided head-on with a Ford F-150.*

CATOOSA COUNTY, GA - Wrcbtv.com writes that a crash involving multiple vehicles, one including a truck, occurred this week on Interstate 75. The collisions happened in close succession and were originally reported as one accident.*

DUNWOODY, GA- Dunwoody council is moving to allow cyclists to ride on the city's sidewalks, according to REPORTERNEWSPAPERS.NET. After holding a virtual council meeting, the alteration to the city's code seems likely to go into effect later this summer.*

GEORGIA- In the last decade, the number of drivers above 65 years of age on the road has increased drastically, by 30 percent.  One out of every five drivers on the road is over 65 years old.

GEORGIA- News.uga.edu writes that trucks in the United States transport 200 million tons of timber every year. Transporting timber is costly, and each additional mile traveled between the forest, and the mill adds to the expense. Laws currently do not allow these trucks to drive on interstates.*

Records also show a disturbing indication that these crashes take place far more often than many people realize. In fact, in Georgia, in 2018, researchers found that these collisions take place about once every four days.*

GEORGIA- Police in Georgia have been issuing tickets to distracted drivers since the state's law went into effect in 2018, according to AJC.COM. Since the law was initiated, the state has seen a decline in traffic fatalities.*

ATLANTA, GA- A recent study reviewed the most dangerous roads in Georgia to find the places where car crashes are more likely to occur during the summer months, according to PATCH.COM. The researchers evaluated data from 2015, 2016, and 2017 to come to their conclusions. The road that topped the list was Interstate 75, where 111 people were killed in crashes during the summer months in those three years. The next deadliest road was Interstate 20, where 55 deaths occurred, followed by Interstate 16, which saw 35 fatalities. Interstate 95 ran through multiple states and made its way into the top three deadliest place to drive in eight separate states.*

HARRIS COUNTY, GA- Wtvm.com writes that a driver struck and killed a pedestrian in Harris County this week, and then fled the scene. The incident took place in Waverly Hall on SR 85 in the northbound lanes during the later evening.*

FORSYTH, GA - 41nbc.com writes that an accident occurred on Highway 42 that cost one person their life. The incident occurred in the early morning and left one person dead. The Monroe County Sherriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.*

WACO, TX- Dallasnews.com writes that candidates running for the position of chair of the Texas Republican Party sustained severe injuries in a motorcycle wreck that occurred near Waco this week. The candidate and former congressman from Florida is now focusing on recovering from the wreck.*

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL- Tbreporter.com writes that a car crash took place this week that left one person dead. The crash occurred when a 51-year-old driver from Bradenton reportedly attempted to pass a car and entered oncoming traffic in order to do so. The victim’s car collided head-on with another vehicle.*

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA- Atlanta.cbslocal.com writes that an early morning crash left one person dead in Gwinnett County. Police were called to the scene of a pedestrian crash that occurred on Level Creek Road close to the intersection with Cabot Creek Way. The location is in unincorporated Buford. Responders rushed the victim to the hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening.*

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA- Forsythnews.com writes that Memorial Day in Forsyth County was not plagued by deadly car crashes this year. The state did see a rise in DUI arrests, however, indicating that not everyone was taking the proper steps to keep themselves and others out of harm’s way on the road.*

GEORGIA- 13wmaz.com writes that a man died in a tragic crash that occurred on Highway 96 this week. The incident took place when a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound and veered off the roadway where it struck an embankment and then rolled over.*

RICHMOND HILL, GA- Wtoc.com writes that a teacher was paralyzed in an accident involving a waterslide in Richmond Hill. The victim is in the ICU, where she is recovering from her injuries. The incident left her paralyzed from the chest down. A surgical procedure improved her condition and restored some movement to her arms.*

PAULDING COUNTY, GA- Patch.com writes that a tragic crash close to Union Community killed a young couple. The victims, a 32-year-old man, and a 31-year-old woman were riding a Harley-Davidson when they were struck by a car. The other vehicle reportedly rear-ended the motorcycle causing the bike to enter oncoming traffic.*

WALKER COUNTY, GA- Timesfreepress.com writes that a deadly hit-and-run crash took place in Walker County, Georgia. Now police are searching for two vehicles of interest that may have been involved in the death of the victim.* 

FLORIDA- Brewtonstandard.com writes that a man from Brewton died in a crash on Highway 29 this week. Reports indicate that an SUV was traveling northbound on the highway in the outside lane, but the driver lost control of the vehicle.* 

JACKSONVILLE, FL- Firstcoastnews.com writes that a crash occurred in Jacksonville, Florida, that injured three people. The incident took place on US 301 at the intersection with Normandy Boulevard in the afternoon.*
