Workers’ compensation programs exist in order to provide protections for individuals who suffer from work-related injuries. The laws related to workers’ compensation vary from state to state. In general, these programs cover the medical costs associated with work-related injuries, and some wage replacement for employees who miss work as a result of their injury or illness. Workers’ compensation benefits do not include some forms of compensation available in personal injury lawsuits, such as payments for pain and suffering. However, unlike a personal injury lawsuit, workers’ compensation benefits are not based on fault. FLORIDA- AAA is warning motorists regarding the dangers of distracted driving, according to NEWS4JAX.COM. The State of Florida, in recent years, recorded a historically high number of annual distracted driving accidents with over 200 distracted driving crashes, which resulted in 231 fatalities. October is the national distracted driving awareness month, and AAA is pointing out that distracted driving includes many behaviors other than using cell phones while behind the wheel. Nationally close to 3,000 people die in distracted driving crashes every year. In total, about 400,000 collisions are caused by distracted drivers annually.

The afternoon accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70. The victim, identified as a 40-year-old man from Brooksville, Florida, rolled his car over After attempting to pass a vehicle ahead of him. Reports state that the victim entered the left lane and then failed in his attempt to correct himself and struck the car, which he had attempted to pass.
