According to an online article at cultofmac.com, an apartment complex and insurance firm have filed a lawsuit against Apple for allegedly causing a fire that involved an iPad. The fire that occurred back in February 2017 resulted in the death of an apartment tenant.*

SPRINGFIELD, MA – According to online news reports at cbsnews.com and bostonherald.com,  a twenty three year old Ukraine national with a United States green card is being arraigned this week where he is facing seven counts of negligent homicide in the recent motorcycle accident that occurred late last week in New Hampshire.*

OAHU, HI – According to an online news report at apnews.com, federal investigators are examining repair and inspection records on the skydiving plane that crashed soon after taking off from an airport on Oahu’s North Shore.  The accident caused the death of all eleven passengers on board.*

TIFT COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at walb.com, traffic was backed up over the weekend on Interstate 75 north following an accident involving a driver of a tractor trailer.  The accident caused three lanes of traffic to be blocked.  Exit 61 was also blocked as a result of the accident.*

OAHU, HI – According to an online news report at abcnews.go.com, a skydiving plane recently crashed in Oahu, Hawaii, rendering it the worst United States civil air crash since 2011.*

JACKSONVILLE, FL –according to an online news report at news4jax.com, a thirty one year old male perished after two vehicles collided on Interstate 95 located at Eighth Street. One of the vehicles left the roadway, plunged down an embankment and hit into two trees.*

MIAMI SHORES, FL – According to an online news report at local10.com, a group of boy scouts survived a fiery accident that occurred over the weekend on the Florida Turnpike in Okeechobee County, Florida.*

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Over 75 firefighters from Escambia County and neighboring communities flocked to a condominium complex in Escambia County to combat a massive fire. The Insurance Journal reported that the fire happened overnight on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Fire officials did not indicate the suspected cause of the condo fire, which is a short distance from Perdido Key Beach. A resident of the condo complex sustained an injury in the blaze as well as a firefighter. Media outlets did not provide updated information on the medical status of the injured resident and firefighter. Fire officials are looking to find the reason why the fire started.*

DELAND, Fla. —Skydivers missed their drop zone and scattered all over a Florida town after high winds pushed them away from their designated landing spot. Fox 35 Orlando reported that one of the skydivers suffered injuries after missing the drop zone. The injured skydiver crashed into a stand of trees and then fell several feet to the ground below. Estimates say that skydiver fell as far as 50 feet from the trees back to the earth. The skydivers involved in the incident that happened in DeLand, Florida are members of a skydiving team and were not novice skydivers. *

SARASOTA, Fla. — Two very young children sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a freak bicycle accident in Sarasota, Florida. According to a report appearing on mysuncoast.com, the children, estimated to be approximately toddler age, were riding in a small trailer towed by their father behind their father’s bicycle. The initial reports concerning the accident suggest that the bike struck a curb along a sidewalk. The impact flipped the trailer over and ejected the small children. A medical helicopter rushed the children to the nearest children’s trauma center for treatment of their injuries. The children are thankfully expected to survive the wounds they sustained in the event. *

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two cars exploded into flames after colliding head-on on Interstate 95 near the Old St. Augustine exit in the southbound lanes of travel. WOKV.com reported that both drivers involved in the crash died instantly when the vehicles burst into flames after colliding head-on. At least one of the autos overturned in the collision. The horrific crashed forced troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol to close Interstate 95 southbound entirely for at least six hours. Two of the southbound lanes remained closed for about eleven hours after the accident so crews could repair the road surface and clear debris. Florida Highway Patrol officers continue to investigate the incident. *

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — One person drove in the wrong direction on Interstate 565 and caused a pre-dawn crash with a big-rig according to WHNT.com. The driver of the sedan heading against traffic on the wrong side of the road sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer truck went to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The crash forced Alabama State Police to close the interstate to traffic for several hours while they attempted to rescue the wounded, cleared the roadway of debris, and performed their investigation. Huntsville Police also responded to the scene. Authorities said they focused their investigation on whether the wrong-way driver was impaired at the time of the crash. Authorities have not issued criminal charges at this juncture. *

CAMDEN, N.J. — A physician claims he suffered serious, permanent injuries to his spine while riding the extreme roller coaster dubbed “Kingda Ka” in a lawsuit filed in a New Jersey Superior Court that was removed to federal court in Camden upon the motion by Six-Flags according to courierpostonline.com. Six-Flags boasts that Kingda Ka is the fastest roller coaster in the world. App.com said the roller coaster travels from a dead stop to 128 miles per hour in less than four seconds, and the ride lasts just under one minute. However, the six-foot, two-inch-tall physician claimed that he suffered injuries because of Six-Flags' failure to warn riders about the possibility that the roller coaster'[s seats and safety systems might inflict injuries upon taller riders. *

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three vehicles collided on Park Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. The wreck sent four people to the hospital with severe injuries according to a report filed by WBTV. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police launched an investigation into the crash, which shut down the road for over an hour. Charlotte fire and medics assisted the wounded at the scene. Medics transported four individuals to local hospitals. Medics said that three people sustained very serious injuries and the fourth person sustained injuries described as non-life threatening. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police did not provide a cause of the crash to the media at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. *

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person sustained life-threatening injuries, and five other people were seriously hurt when a vehicle crossed the center median on Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte and slammed head-on into vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. According to a report authored by WCNC, the head-on collision occurred right around 8:00 p.m. on Billy Graham Parkway between South Tryon Street and West Tyvola Road. The person operating the vehicle that crossed the center median was the person who sustained the life-threatening injuries. There was no additional information from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police concerning the cause of the accident, and there was no update on the medical condition of those injured in the multi-car wreck. *

MACON, Ga. — Federal regulators hit Korean tire company Kumho Tire Co, Inc. with just over $500,000.00 in fines based on a variety of serious safety violations that occurred in the company’s manufacturing plant located in south Bibb County. A report from 13WMAZ indicated that the international tire company received 22 safety violations for infractions ranging from falls to amputations from investigators with the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration, better known as OSHA. A person speaking on behalf of Kumho Tire about the infractions cited by OSHA said that the company would work with the agency to arrive at a reasonable resolution of the dispute. *

Data from the North Carolina Department of Transportation show that the number of fatal motorcycle collisions was more than 20 percent higher in 2018 compared to 2017.*

RALEIGH, N.C. — Seven people reportedly sustained injuries in a 30-vehicle pile-up on Interstate 40 in Raleigh, North Carolina. According to a report filed by ABC 11, authorities were forced to close the interstate for many hours as crews worked to clear the area. The crash happened in a construction zone at the height of a mighty rainstorm that pounded the Raleigh area with rain falling at a rate of 3 inches per hour. The troopers from the North Carolina State Patrol are still investigating but preliminarily have blamed the crash on poor drainage in the construction area. *

WEST ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The driver of a pickup truck died, and three of the passengers in the truck sustained injuries when the pickup flipped over on State Road 429 in West Orange County. Spectrum News 13 reported that the fatal rollover accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in Winter Garden. Florida State Police have opened an investigation into the cause of the fatal crash, but they have not issued many details about the accident. The current medical condition of the three passengers who survived the crash is unknown at this time. * 

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A motorcycle rider collided with a car in Clearwater, Florida. The accident sent the rider to a local hospital with injuries according to a report filed by News Channel 8.The motorcyclist sustained injuries authorities described as severe. The authorities did not comment about the medical condition of the operator of the motor vehicle also involved in the crash. Clearwater Police said that the accident happened in or near the intersection of South Fort Harrison Avenue and Turner Street. Officials continue to investigate the facts surrounding the crash, and there was no information available whether the police issued criminal charges. * 

WEST ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida State Highway Patrol officers said that one man died, and three people were injured and transported to Orlando Health after the pickup truck in which they were riding flipped over. The driver died at the scene of the crash. The three passengers were hospitalized at Orlando Health. At this time it appears the pickup truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident according to ClickOrlando.com. No update is currently available on the condition of the three people who survived the crash. Florida Highway Patrol officers continue to investigate the crash. *

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a two-car, head-on collision that killed a 75-year-old woman in the early afternoon hours of Thursday, June 6, 2019, according to WPTV 5. The woman who died lived in Fort Pierce, Florida and was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash. Troopers said that two other people suffered injuries in the head-on crash. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time. Officers with the Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Law enforcement officers did not provide any information, whether either of the surviving drivers would face criminal charges as a consequence of the collision. *

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 40-year-old woman from Bonita Springs, Florida died four days after sustaining severe personal injuries in a crash that injured five other people. According to a news report filed by NBC 2, the accident happened on US-41 near Moccasin Wallow Road in Manatee County, Florida. The woman who ultimately succumbed to her injuries she sustained in the crash was a passenger in a Sports Utility Vehicle involved in a crash with another vehicle that was turning left.
