Reports indicate that the incident took place during the morning late last week. Medics arrived on the site shortly after the accident.*

Woman who has Ties with Hall Tragically Dies in a Carrollton, Georgia Accident; Two Others Die in Separate Accident

Member of the United Auto Workers Tragically Died after Being Hit by a Vehicle Close to the General Motors Plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee

SPRING HILL, TN – According to an online news report at wkrn.com, a member of the United Auto Workers tragically died after being struck by an automobile earlier this week on a bridge that is located close to the General Motors plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee.*

USA- WSAV.com has reported that deaths caused by automobile collisions throughout the United States dropped in 2018 for the second year in a row, according to traffic fatality statistics available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for last year. The amount of fatalities declined by 2.4%. NHTSA attributes the drop in fatalities at least in part due to technology in newer vehicles that is likely helping drivers avoid collisions.  

PIKEVILLE, KY. – According to an online news report published at wsaz.com, a man from Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 23 in Pikeville, Kentucky. MIAMI, FL- Usatoday.com writes that the footbridge that came down killing six people in Miami in March of 2018 was poorly designed. The pedestrian bridge was meant to connect the Florida International University to the nearby city of Sweetwater. The bridge was still being built when the structure collapsed onto the roadway below where it crushed eight vehicles, killing six and injuring ten other people.*

MACON, GA. – According to an online news report posted on The Telegraph on Macon.com, a worker fatality that occurred at the Nichiha plant in Macon, Georgia, is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This is the second worker fatality to be investigated at the plant since its 2007 opening, according to the report.*

Authorities tracked down the suspect, who is also accused of trying to hide the vehicle he was driving when he hit the victim.*

RALEIGH, NC. – According to a news report posted online at wraltechwire.com, a study from North Carolina State University examined robot accountability for accidents in the workplace. The study found that people were willing to blame robots for accidents at work if they believed that the robots were operating autonomously.*

BRIDGEPORT, NC- Ncadvertiser.com writes that a drunk driver tragically killed a pedestrian late last week in an early morning accident. The incident occurred on Barnum Avenue when the victim was attempting to cross the roadway from outside of the designated cross-walk. The victim was identified as a 39-year-old man.*

PINELLAS PARK, FL- Tampabay.com writes that a woman is being charged for vehicular homicide after causing a tragic collision over the weekend. The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Seminole, fled the site of two previous minor crashes before driving through a red traffic light and slamming into the driver’s side door of a 2011 Lexus, killing the man driving that vehicle. The victim was identified as a 53-year-old man.* 

RENO, NV- Ncadvertiser.com writes that a woman was fatally struck by a fire truck in a tragic crash that took place in Reno over the weekend. The woman was identified as a 63-year-old who is believed to have been homeless. She died at the scene of the accident.*

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. – According to an online news article reported at ncadvertiser.com, a police officer was involved in a vehicle crash in St. Louis County, Missouri. The officer was reportedly responding to a call and ran into a passenger vehicle. The officer and the other driver were injured in the accident, according to the article.*

A sideswipe crash is one in which vehicles collide on their sides either while driving the same direction or in opposite directions. These crashes are often the result of blind spots, where a driver goes to change lanes without noticing another vehicle in that lane. The cars hit causing damage to the sides of both vehicles.*

The report indicates that two people were tragically killed in the accident, and multiple people were injured.*

The two men were traveling in separate vehicles but worked for the same company, according to the report.*

The report says that a woman was tragically killed in the accident, while five people were injured.*

Many people own dogs, and while they can be man’s best friend, it doesn’t mean that this is always the case.  The truth is, while unfortunate, many innocent people, including postal workers and children, sustain serious injuries after being bitten or brutally attacked by a dog without provocation. Not everyone has their dog properly trained or restrained.

Authorities said that the driver of the SUV, who was not identified, had to be extricated from the vehicle.*

WARNER ROBINS, GA. – According to a news report published online by 13wmaz.com, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a vehicle crash that took place on Georgia Highway 96 in Warner Robins, Georgia. The accident is still under investigation, but witness information indicates it might have been caused by a failure to yield.*

COBB COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report posted online by ajc.com, an SUV and a motorcycle were involved in a fatal crash on Cobb Parkway in Cobb County, Georgia. The motorcyclist was tragically killed in the crash, according to the report, and it is not known if the teenage driver of the SUV will face charges.*

DANSVILLE, GA- Dawson.fetchyournews.com writes that a school and a dump truck were involved in a collision during the early morning hours while students were on board heading to school. The crash occurred at Highway 51 East and Jack Heard. The Dawson County Fire &EMS were sent to the scene of the accident after receiving reports that some of the students sustained injuries in the collision.*

POLK COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story reported at mdjonline.com, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred on the Highway 27 bypass in Polk County, Georgia. Georgia State Patrol is working to investigate the case, and officials have released identifying information on the victim of the accident.*

ROME, GA- Mdjonline.com writes that a woman suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Broad Street in Rome earlier this week. The driver was traveling on Broad Street approaching Second Avenue when he struck the victim while she was attempting to cross the road in a crosswalk. The driver stated that he failed to see the woman in the roadway and argued that she did not have a walk sign at the time of the accident.*

GA- The nypost.com writes that a construction worker’s accident with a nail gun was caught on camera a few weeks ago. The victim was working on building a play pirate ship when he picked up the nail gun and brushed it against his leg. The gun fired shooting the man through the thigh with a three-inch penny nail. The nail has grooves on its sides which make it difficult to extract.*

While many of these accidents are minor and result in just minimal property damage, a staggering number of people lose their lives in automobile collisions every year. In fact, each day, an average of 90 people die in car accidents.*

DARE COUNTY, VA- Outerbanksvoice.com writes that a pedestrian was seriously hurt in an accident that occurred overnight on S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills. The victim was reportedly a 39-year-old man from Richmond, Virginia. The victim was crossing US 158 from the west to the east side of the roadway. A 28-year-old man from North Carolina was driving a 2017 Mack tractor-trailer and heading northbound. Witnesses to the accident stated that the driver was traveling around 45 miles per hour, which is the speed limit in the area.*

The headrests involved are designed to “pop” in the even of a car accident in order to prevent the occupant from sustaining a whiplash injury. RED BANK, S.C.— A collision between a dump truck and a motorcycle killed the motorcycle rider. The fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Lexington County just outside of Red Bank around 11:35 a.m. on a Thursday morning. According to WLTX, the crash scene was located on Two North Road near Red Bank and a short distance away from Interstate 20. The motorcycle rider was a 23-year-old man. Physicians at the hospital pronounced him deceased from his injuries shortly after arrival. South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers began an investigation. They said that the motorcycle rider did wear a helmet while riding. The investigators initially determined that the crash occurred when a vehicle turned left in front of the motorcycle, and the motorbike rider struck the car broadside. The driver did not suffer any injuries. The investigation continues. *
