COBB COUNTY, GA- Mdjonline.com reports that a multiple vehicle crash took place on Interstate 75. The crash injured five people, one of them seriously, and left a tractor-trailer burning. Emergency Services received multiple calls about the crash at about 1:06 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. The report indicates that a driver stopped and was struck from behind by another vehicle. A tractor-trailer rear-endedanother truck. The tractor-trailer that was in the back caught fire.*

Tree Falls on Truck Causing Fatal Crash on I-90

DOUGLAS COUNTY- Ajc.com reports that a tree fell onto a vehicle in Douglas County killing the driver. The incident took place on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, on Interstate 20. The man was driving west when the tree fell at about 10:30 in the morning. The driver died at the scene. No other individuals were injured in the accident.*

Suspected Drunk Driver Kills One, Maims Another in Walton County, Georgia

WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — A drunk driver slammed head-on into the car occupied a father and son on September 21, 2018, in Walton County. The father tragically died, and the teenage son was severely injured according to actionnewsjax.com. The suspected drunk driver also suffered injuries in the crash. Law enforcement officers have charged the alleged drunk driver with crimes relating to the accident. The final crash report is not complete and the particulars of the crash.*

Experts Say Nearly 90 Percent of Child Safety Seats Incorrectly Installed

CHATTANOOGA, TN — The Chattanooga Times Free Press is reporting that 90 percent of all child safety seats currently in use have been installed incorrectly. National Child Passenger Safety Week, which continues through this Saturday, highlights the importance of making sure that parents, grandparents, guardians, and all others transporting a child, must ensure the child restraint in their car was installed correctly. Failing to do so unreasonably endangers the child and gives the operator of the vehicle a false sense of security.*

Georgia Trucker Dies in Cheyenne, Wyoming Crash

CHEYENNE Wy. — A 60-year-old trucker from Georgia died Sunday, September 23, 2018, when he lost control over his rig and the tractor, along with the trailer, rolled over. The Wyoming Highway Patrol investigated the accident according to kgab.com in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Police do not suspect other vehicles were involved. The Wyoming State Police investigators continue to probe the reasons behind the fatal incident.*

Quick Reaction By Police Officer Saves Woman’s Life in Anna, Texas

The quick-witted officer remained calm as he consoled the distraught woman whom he just pulled to safety. Savannah Children Hurt When Thrown From ATV

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Two children, aged two and five, suffered serious injuries after being tossed off of an all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) in Savannah on Saturday, September 22, 2018, according to kttn.com. Although the injuries are serious, the two children are expected to survive. Georgia Highway Patrol officers have not indicated if the operator of the ATV will face criminal charges.*

Georgia Trooper Smashes into Home In Midst of Car Chase in Winder, Georgia

WINDER, GA- Wsbtv.com reports that a man was almost killed in the home he is renting when a police car drove into the house. The man was sitting on his front porch on Friday, September 21, 2018,when a Georgia State Trooper drove onto the street in pursuit of a suspect. When the trooper attempted to hit the person he was pursuing, he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the residence.*

Smyrna Man Killed in Marietta, Georgia Car Accident

MARIETTA, Ga. — A Smyrna man lost his life in a violent automobile accident on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in Marietta. According to the Smyrna Patch, the fatal collision took place around 1:15 in the afternoon. Cobb County police initiated an investigation into the reasons why the crash occurred. The Cobb County police investigators have not reached a conclusion, and the case remains under investigation.*

Multi-Car Crash Causes Injuries in Columbus, Georgia

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Columbus police officers, along with Columbus Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene of a three-car accident on Wynnton Road and 18th Avenue. Pennsylvania School Bus Accident injures Multiple Students

The bus which was carrying about 40 middle school and high school students went over an embankment in a stretch of Route 228 that has been under construction for months. The bus reportedly struck a barrier, veered off the roadway and over a hillbefore ending up on its side.*

Fatal Pedestrian Crash Shuts Down Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs, Georgia

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A 27-year-old man died after being hit by at least one car while trying to cross Ga. 400. The crash took place in Sandy Springs around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.Police were unable to determine immediately after the accident why a man would be as brazen as to attempt running across a busy highway like Ga. 400. The accident forced police to shut down Ga. 400 for a lengthy period of time. The investigation is on-going and may take a while to complete.*

The frequency of pedestrian fatalities is rising in the United Statesand Georgia as well. According to the Governor's Office of Highway Safety in Georgia, 193 pedestrians died in collisions with motor vehicles in 2015. The statistic represents an increase of 30 pedestrian deaths from 2014. Georgia pedestrians did not fare any better in 2016. In 2016, 232 pedestrians died in motor vehicle crashes. In 2017, 260 pedestrians perished in motor vehicle collisions. Approximately half-way through 2018, 111 pedestrians have been killed in vehicle wrecks,which is a 16% increase from 2017 at this same time.

Wild Crash Leads to Search for Fugitives in Lithonia, Georgia

Victim of Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Georgia Avenue Has Been Identified

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD —Montgomery County police identified the man killed in a tragic pedestrian accident. Police identified Tierno Siradiou Bah as the person killed according to the Montgomery Community Media website. Mr. Bah reportedly lived on the 1200 block of Holdridge Road in Silver Spring, MD. The investigating law enforcement officers withheld the decedent’s name from publication until they were able to notify Mr. Bah’s next of kin.*
