Georgia Auto Accident Lawyers Montlick & Associates Offers Advice for all Drivers

There are many different types of automobile insurance, and some are not well known or understood.  One example is uninsured motorist coverage.  Uninsured motorist coverage - also known as under-insured motorist coverage - is insurance that protects you should you get hit by someone who is not insured  -  or whose liability coverage is not enough to cover medical bills and other damages sustained in an accident.

Georgia Auto Accident Lawyers Montlick & Associates would like to explain why uninsured motorist coverage is so important and how drivers can benefit.  Drivers in Georgia are required to have at least $25,000 in liability coverage.  That might seem like a lot, but with the high cost of healthcare, recovering from even a minor accident can exceed that amount.  A more serious injury requiring surgery will be much more.  Add the cost of vehicle damage and any lost wages, and clearly the at-fault driver's $25,000 policy is never going to provide the coverage you need. And some states have even lower policy limits.  For example, Florida has a mandatory limit of just $10,000 and Alabama has no limit.  So if an underinsured or an uninsured driver from any state accidentally hits you, you are much more at risk...unless you have uninsured motorist coverage.  That is why Montlick & Associates strongly recommends checking your own policy to see if this coverage is included, and if not, please talk to your insurance provider right away.
