Domestic violence affects as many as ten million families in the United States each year. A recently released report by the Violence Policy Center listed Georgia as 15th in the nation for killings of women by men in single-victim homicides. Most of these killings were related to domestic violence. Over eight hundred Georgians have died in the past seven years due to domestic violence according to the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.
